So far this class has been full of new information for me. Not so much in course materials, but more so in the tools we use in order to learn the course material. Before this class I have never even been on a Wiki site, or ever posted an online learning journal. Yet, I am enjoying it very much. It is something new and exciting to do, rather than expect the same old routine and outline; this course has me guessing on what is going to happen next.
I am also enjoying John McPhee's writing very much. It really appeals to me because I enjoy reading and I care very much for the environment. McPhee takes the seriousness of environmental issues and displays it in a very appealing way by his use of describing the atmosphere and kind of making a story out of it so it becomes almost fictional. It is not like any kind of journalist writing I have read before.
